Here’s what that final day’s line-up went on to do after they booked a place back in the second tier with the Owls...
9. Michail Antonio
A goalscorer ahainst Wycombe, Antonio was initially on loan at Wednesday but made the move permanent ahead of the new season in the Championship. The next couple of seasns were hampered by injury and he was eventually sold to Nottingham Forest for round £1million. Rediscovering his form there, West Ham paid over £6million to take him to east London in 2015 where his performances would see the speedy attacker earn an England call-up Photo: Steve Ellis
10. Gary Madine
A year after playing a pivotal in getting Wednesday promoted, Madine would spend five months in jail for GBH and ABH. Upon his release he was loaded to Carlisle and then after subsequent loan sells at Coventry and Blackpool, a move to Bolton revitalised his career which would eventually see Cardiff spend £6million to take him to South Wales. Failure to break into the Bluebirds' Premier League team saw him loaned to Sheffield United where he helped them to the top flight. 11. Nile Ranger
Ranger had a, ahem, colourful career. After his short loan spell at the end of the season which reaped promotion - scoring in the win over Wycombe - he returned to Newcastle but was released in March 2013. He has spells at Swindon, Blackpool and Southend but had disciplinary problems at each of those, regualrly going AWOL. He was jailed in 2017 for conspiracy to defraud. Still only 29, he hasn't played since turning out for Southend on New Year's Day 2018. Photo: PA Wire
12. David Prutton
Was at Wednesday at the tail-ened of his career but played an important role in that promotion. His influence dwindled after that and after loan spells at Scunthorpe and Coventry, he retired before his punditry on Sky Sports' Football League coverage eventually saw him become a presenter on the network Photo: Steve Ellis
