Here’s what that final day’s line-up went on to do after they booked a place back in the second tier with the Owls...
1. Stephen Bywater
The keeper initially joined on loan before making the move to Wednesday permanent. Left to join Millwall two years later before spells at Doncaster and Kerla Blasters in India before coming back to England and joining Burton Albion where he remains as back up. Photo: Steve Ellis
2. Lewis Buxton
Hugely-popular Buxton remained at Wednesday until 2015 when he joined Rotherham, keeping the Millers in the Championship. He was then released and joined Bolton and spent a season with the Trotters before calling it quits Photo: Steve Ellis
3. Danny Batth
Still much-loved after two loan spells at Wednesday, Batth returned to Wolves at the end of this one where he would finally nail down a place in the side. Eventually he would fall out of favour and after over 200 appearances and a loan spell at Middlesbrough, he moved to Stoke for £3million in 2019. Photo: Steve Ellis
4. Mark Beevers
A product of the youth system, Beevers had been out on loan in the promotion season but came back into the side for the final six games. He would go out on loan again the following season, this time to Millwall - a move that was made permanent. Beevers returned north in 2016 and helped Bolton return to the Championship.
