The Owls’ last home game saw them score and concede three goals in a dramatic 3-3 draw with Portsmouth, but they then went on to pick up their first three points of the campaign with a solid 1-0 win away at MK Dons.

Today, as two former Premier League sides go head to head, they’ll be eager to keep up their fine run of form at Hillsborough, though they will have to do it without summer signings, Michael Smith and Akin Famewo, who have both been ruled out. Famewo, sadly, is going to be out for some time.

It wasn’t pretty, and it maybe wasn’t altogether deserved, but Wednesday have their first three points of the season at home and the unbeaten run goes on! A tough slog for the Owls, but they won’t mind that. Great result.

Great work from Sow to wriggle away from his man and find Windass on the edge of the box. He strikes with venom, but it’s just over the top.

Just as the board is held up, Windass fires from range. It’s over the bar though.

Sow very unlucky not to double Wednesday’s lead... Windass with more excellent work down the right, and he squared it nicely to the Dutchman. His connection was good, but a strong block stopped it from hitting the back of the net.

Wednesday lead!! The ball was moved out to Windass on the right, and he put an absolute dream of a cross into the centre of the box - Bakinson watched it, timed his run perfectly, and powered home his header. Wednesday lead.

Bannan off, Sow on. Last roll of the dice.

Bannan pumping up the crowd

He raises his arms as he runs out to take the corner, asking for their support in the final 15 minutes.

James has come on in the left of the centre backs, with Palmer going wide right as the wingback and Johnson moving back to the left - they were using inverted wingbacks for a short while there.

Another Wednesday sub.

Reece James comes on for Jack Hunt.
