The Star reported this week that the 20-year-old was closing in on a move to Hillsborough as he sought a reunion with his former Doncaster Rovers manager, Darren Moore, and that terms had been agreed ahead of his proposed move from the Emirates.

Now, as Moore and his team prepare for the visit of Ipswich Town this weekend, it has been announced that the young attacker has become the Owls’ second signing of the January transfer window following Jordan Storey’s arrival last week.

The club said on their official website today, “The Owls have signed Arsenal striker Tyreece John-Jules on loan until the end of the season.

“The 20-year-old, who spent the first half of the campaign in the Championship with Blackpool, becomes Wednesday’s second January signing following the addition of Jordan Storey last week.”

John-Jules will wear the number 30 for the Owls, and is set to begin training with his new teammates ahead of the visit of Ipswich Town on Saturday in which he could make his debut at Hillsborough.

TJJ does have a long-term contract at Arsenal and is rated highly at the club, however Mikel Arteta is eager for him to get out playing on a regular basis now as he approaches his 21st birthday, hence the decision to recall him from his loan spell with Blackpool in the Championship where he had a spell of not featuring.

Tyreece John-Jules has signed for Sheffield Wednesday.

The attacker, who has scored most of his goals whilst playing as a centre forward but can also play as a number 10 or out wide, will be eager to try and hit the ground running on Saturday if given the chance, and Moore may be tempted to throw him straight into the deep end as the Owls target a return to winning ways following the defeat to Oxford United.

Wednesday now have seven players on loan at S6 following the arrival of Jordan Storey and John-Jules, however only five of them are allowed to be named in a matchday squad when it comes to League One fixtures.
