The Star reported earlier this week that Fink, 53, was up for consideration by the Owls as they seek Tony Pulis’ replacement at Hillsborough, with the former Bayern Munich midfielder believed to be one of the names in the running.
A whole host of managers have been linked with the post, though it’s believed that neither José Morais nor Gus Poyet – both who have been mentioned – are up for the job at this point in time.

Hide AdFink, meanwhile, would be very keen to make the switch to Hillsborough, The Star understands, and is looking to take the next step of his career in England should the opportunity arise.
It is thought that the former FC Basel and Hamburger SV manager recently turned down advances from German club, Schalke 04, because of his ambitions to venture into English football for the first time in his career. They have since hired Christian Gross.
In his most recent job, Fink enjoyed a very successful spell in Japan with Vissel Kobe, working with the likes of Andres Iniesta, David Villa and Lukas Podolski, as he guided the club to their first ever trophies - winning the Emperors Cup and Japanese Super Cup earlier this year before resigning to return to Europe.
It remains to be seen who else is being considered by Dejphon Chansiri and his advisors, but he’ll be keen to make a decision on Pulis’ successor as soon as possible.
