John-Jules’ loan spell at Hillsborough has not worked out as anybody would have hoped, with the 21-year-old picking up an injury early into his time with the Owls and managing to play just 18 minutes in blue and white before returning to his parent club, Arsenal, to begin his rehabilitation.

That was back in February, and while there does appear to be some hope that the young Gunner could play a part in the final run-in of the 2021/22 campaign, Darren Moore admits that they’re not sure when he’ll be back at Middlewood Road just yet.

When asked about the whereabouts of the young forward, Moore told The Star, “I’m going to make contact with them next week, so I’ll find out next week.

“We’ve left it for now and just given him some time - but I’ll make contact with them and then we’ll find out where his progress is at.”

Meanwhile, there was a major boost on the Adeniran front, with Moore revealing that he’s well ahead of schedule in his recovery after originally being ruled out until the end of the season.

Moore now seems confident that the midfield man will be back playing before the 2021/22 campaign is over, but admits that they want to make sure he stays available once he returns to contention.

The Owls boss explained, “Dennis is back on the pitch and back outside now… He’s doing really well, and we’ve been given the green light to accelerate his training now.

“Barring anything in training, and if his programme goes right in terms of his rehab on the pitch, we’ll definitely see him back in and around the first team before the end of the season.

“He’s ready now, he’s back training, so we’ll increase his volume and progression, and make sure that when he comes back, he stays back.”

The 23-year-old hasn’t played since coming on late into the 4-2 win over Plymouth Argyle back in mid-January.
