Monk and his troops will starting getting things underway tomorrow with a staggered return starting tomorrow that will involve fitness tests and the like for the Owls players, and then they will head off to Loughborough University for a training camp closer towards the end of the month.

Beattie, especially, has been welcomed with open arms – despite his Sheffield United links – following the good work that he did with players such as Chris Wood at Leeds United and Che Adams at Birmingham City, with supporters hopeful that he can assist in fixing the club’s scoring problem.

While FDB will be the only new player present, both Matt Penney and Joost van Aken are expected back after their respective loan spells in Germany last season.
