Sheffield Wednesday won-out a helter-skelter away clash at Peterborough United to take their tally of League One wins this season to four out of five and continue their momentum through a testing week.
The closure of the transfer window was only one thing to contend with as trips to Wycombe and Peterborough promised to test the breadth of their squad. An own goal in the first half was pegged back before Yan Valery’s finish from Kieran Morrison’s corner earned a battling 2-1 win.
The early kick-off means Wednesday finished the match top of the division. It’s been an exciting start. Here are our ratings from London Road.
9. Callum Slattery - 7
Up and about in a lively front four. Yellow carded for a drag-back and got around the Posh midfield as much he could. Some lovely touches in there and showed his adaptability in moving wide. | Steve Ellis

10. Davis Keillor-Dunn - 6
His first outing in Wednesday colours after a whirlwind signing. Offered nice glimpses early doors with a couple of lovely touches and rotated nicely with those around him. Off before the hour. | Getty Images

11. Kieran Morrison - 8
Opened things up wide left in what was his first-ever career start. Scooped the ball in to create Wednesday's goal and caused problems in close quarters - and swung in the excellent corner to allow Valery to win it. | Steve Ellis

12. Ernie Weaver - 7
On at the break for Cooper. Threw himself into it as he does. Heads bricks before breakfast. | Steve Ellis
