Sheffield Wednesday press day LIVE: Chey Dunkley and Darren Moore on Wimbledon trip

CD on wearing the armband

I wasn’t expecting it to be honest. Jack Hunt was playing and I thought it might be him, it wasn’t something that entered by brain. Joe Wildsmith was playing there as well.

Jack has been here before, he’s experienced and is older than me.

Having it was an honour to captain the club. It was a nice gesture from the manager.

It’ll be tough down there. As we’ve seen in previous games, they’re going to raise their game and we roll down into London. That’s an opportunity for them.

They play with a front three and four that want to jump on us from the front.

They’re doing alright as things stand. We want to go down there and put on a good performance. We want to do well and get the result.

Yes we can. It’s a marathon and we have the personnel to achieve it. I believe we can. We’ll see, we need to take it game by game.

It’s not a sprint, the next hurdle is a tough game away from home.

I did my work in the off-season, I’ve been ready and I’ve come on, I’ve started games. I feel like I’ve done well and then I’ve been dropped. That’s football.

I need to control what I can control.

Have I been disappointed? Of course. Have I wanted to play every minute? Of course.

The manager makes the decisions. I can’t say too much more on that. I will continue to keep doing what I’m doing.

CD on tactic switches

As a player we have to be able to adapt to what the gaffer wants us to do.

Yes, it’s easier to have a formation inside and out. You have pattern plays and who is in front of you.

As a professional you have to adapt. It is easier to have a system and do it week-in, week-out. But having said that if the manager decides to go 3-5-2 or 4-3-3, we need to be ready for that.

It’s important for us in these set sessions to take on board what he wants from us.

I have to be comfortable whether that’s centre, left-sided, right-sided.

CD on sticking their chests out

I like to think so. We’re representing a massive club and we need to have that confidence. The pressure does come.

Nobody will make it easy for us, we need to raise our game with other teams.

Bolton gave us a good game but it’s one of the better performances they had. We know every team will raise their game, we need to know that, respect the opponent and have the confidence we’re here to play for this club.

We should be beating teams, especially at Hillsborough.

CD on being targeted

That’s the challenge. Week in, week out, we have to do it.

We can’t go back to losing ways, whether we’ve got that pressure to go on and string the wins together.

I have confidence in my teammates.

It’s something we haven’t had [winning run], the division is always solid and we have to win a game of football. It comes with pressure, being in a lower division at home.

It has been tough. We were over the moon we got the win - they don’t come easy.

We have to go out there and get the result to be honest.

It’s important we build on things. We’re not happy with where we are in the table but in terms of back to back wins it’s important for team morale and confidence.

Winning or losing can become a habit. It was an important result against a strong Bolton side.

It wasn’t pretty at times but the three points, nobody will remember it at the end of the season.

DM on Hutch and Gibson

They’re both muscle injuries... We wish them all the best with your recovery.
