Sheffield Wednesday will lock horns with Notts County in a league fixture for the first time in over 14 years when they make the trip to Meadow Lane on Tuesday evening.
The duo arrived in League One this season via different directions after the Owls were relegated from the Championship and Notts were promoted from League Two after beating Salford City 3-0 in the play-off final at Wembley.
Since they last faced each other in the league, Wednesday have come within touching distance of the Premier League, experienced two promotions and two relegations, and endured a spell in administration. Meanwhile, Notts have suffered two relegations, spent four seasons in the National League and secured two promotions.
The sides last met in the league at Meadow Lane in March 2012, when Wednesday won 2-1, extending Dave Jones’ winning start as Owls manager after he had replaced Gary Megson just over a fortnight earlier. The Owls secured all three points via second half goals from Ryan Lowe and Gary Madine.
More than 14 years on from their last league meeting, here is a look back at how the Owls lined up that day...

1. GK: Stephen Bywater
Originally signed on a three-month loan deal in September 2011, Bywater completed a permanent move to Hillsborough in January 2012. He established himself as Wednesday’s No.1 during the second half of the 2011/12 campaign before leaving Hillsborough in the summer of 2013. He went on to play for the likes of Millwall, Doncaster Rovers and Burton Albion ahead of announcing his retirement in 2020. | Getty Images

2. RB: Lewis Buxton
A mainstay in Wednesday’s defence for much of his seven-year spell at Hillsborough, former right-back Buxton was a popular figure during his time at S6. He played a key role in the club’s promotion-winning 2011/12 campaign. Now 42, Buxton retired almost a decade ago after spells with Rotherham United and Bolton Wanderers. 3. CB: Danny Batth
After impressing during the second half of the 2010/11 campaign, Batth returned to Hillsborough on loan the following season and established himself as a key player. Forming a strong central defensive partnership with Rob Jones, Batth made 44 league appearances during the 2011/12 campaign, scoring twice. Now 36, Batth plays for Championship side Millwall. | Getty Images

4. CB: Rob Jones
Originally on loan at Hillsborough, Jones made his move to S6 permanent ahead of the start of the 2011–12 season and was appointed club captain. A proper old-school centre-back, the towering defender, now 46, made 33 appearances during the Owls’ promotion-winning campaign, scoring four goals. He was forced off 17 minutes into the clash with Notts and had to be replaced by Miguel Llera. He announced his retirement in the summer of 2017. | Getty Images
