Davis Keillor-Dunn reveals insight from former Sheffield Wednesday duo after sealing Owls move
Davis Keillor-Dunn made his Sheffield Wednesday debut on Saturday after arriving on loan from Wrexham.
New recruit Davis Keillor-Dunn has admitted he received some valuable insight into Sheffield Wednesday from Wrexham duo and former Owls Bailey Cadamarteri and Josh Windass before sealing his loan move to Hillsborough.
Keillor-Dunn became Wednesday’s 18th and final signing of a transformative summer transfer window last week, arriving on loan from Wrexham until January.
The versatile attacker, who made his debut by starting Saturday’s 2-1 win over Peterborough United at the Weston Homes Stadium, was the subject of a late move by the Owls on deadline day after an opportunity arose to strike an agreement with Wrexham.
Wednesday submitted the relevant paperwork in time and remained confident the deal would receive the necessary approval from the relevant authorities before they were finally able to confirm his move to S6 on Thursday evening — almost 48 hours after the transfer window had closed.
Keillor-Dunn joined Wrexham from Barnsley last February, arriving at the Racecourse Ground on the same day Cadamarteri swapped Hillsborough for north-east Wales. The versatile attacker will now be hoping to add goals and creativity to Henrik Pedersen’s new-look Wednesday side.
And ahead of making his debut against Peterborough at the weekend, the 28-year-old, who scored 13 League One goals for Barnsley last season before moving to Wrexham, admitted that he had received good reviews about Wednesday from Cadamarteri and Windass.
“Two top lads, two top players as well,” Keillor-Dunn told the Owls’ in-house media. “It’s good to get good reviews and good recommendations from players you’ve played against.
“It’s always nice, but I just want to put a show on for the fans and give them a good season.”

The Star first reported Wednesday’s interest in Keillor-Dunn in June, but warned that competition was strong for his signature. Nevertheless, the former Mansfield Town ace revealed that once he heard of the Owls’ interest, he wanted to make the move to Hillsborough.
He added: “There was a lot of interest over the summer, Sheffield Wednesday being one.
“It was one of those things I wanted to get over the line as soon as I could. As soon as I got given the green light, there was only one place for me.”
