Bailey Peacock-Farrell reflects on Sheffield Wednesday spell ahead of Hillsborough return

Bailey Peacock-Farrell will be back at Hillsborough on Sunday afternoon with Blackpool.

Blackpool goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell has admitted that he has kept a close eye on Sheffield Wednesday ever since spending the 2021/22 season on loan at Hillsborough.

The Northern Ireland international made the admission ahead of the Tangerines’ League One clash with the Owls in S6 on Sunday afternoon.

Peacock-Farrell spent the entirety of the 2021/22 campaign with Wednesday, helping them secure a top-six finish in League One following their relegation from the Championship the previous season. Unfortunately, the campaign ended with a play-off semi-final defeat to Sunderland.

The goalkeeper, who was on loan at Hillsborough from Burnley, kept 16 clean sheets in 47 appearances for the Owls. He also saved two penalties during his spell with the club.

Following spells with Burnley, Danish club AGF and Birmingham City, Peacock-Farrell joined Blackpool on loan in July 2025 before making the move permanent in January 2026. He has made 59 appearances for the club to date, including 13 this season.

Reflecting on his time with Wednesday, Peacock-Farrell, as quoted by the Blackpool Gazette, said: “I really enjoyed it, I had a really good year. I was on the bench at Burnley and I needed to go out and play.

“Since I left, it’s somewhere I’ve always kept up with. They’ve had a few issues recently but I wish them well.

“They need to do something this season and so do we to a point; we’ve got to go there and get back on track.”
