The Star reported on Thursday that the 19-year-old had attracted interest following a loan spell with Belper Town, and by the evening it had been confirmed that he was on his way to promotion-chasing Trinity for the remainder of 2022/23.

Glover made his senior Wednesday debut earlier in the campaign after impressing Darren Moore in training, but it was decided that he needed more senior minutes elsewhere in order to aid his development.

Speaking to the club after securing his move, the midfielder said, "I spoke to a few of my former teammates who are really enjoying their football at Gainsborough, and also to my agent who represents a few of the lads at Trinity – and it seemed a really good fit. I have just done a month at Belper, but when the chance comes up to play at a team higher up in the league and doing well, it’s a lot more appealing.

“My time at Belper has been helpful in acclimatising to the league, and with videos I have watched. I certainly feel like I can add goals and assists to the team. I like to get on the ball and have a good range of passing, and play with good energy."

Meanwhile, regarding the decision to see out the remainder of the campaign in Gainsborough, the talented teen said, "I have signed for three months, which takes us up to the end of the season nearly – so it would be great to help the club get promoted. That would be a great achievement, both for Gainsborough, and for me personally to be a part of that."

Gainsborough, largely aided by the 14-goal Waldock in a mightily impressive season so far, are currently third in the NPL, but could go second this weekend if results go their way and they beat Stafford Rangers in what should be Glover’s debut.
