Sheffield Wednesday finally scored - An Owls recap after Millwall
Sheffield Wednesday finally scored a goal...
It’s been a long time coming, and it didn’t change the end result against Millwall, but on Saturday afternoon the Owls avoided becoming the first team in English Football League history to lose nine games in a row without scoring. Jamal Lowe was the one who found the net, giving Wednesday what was a deserved second-half lead.
Sadly, though, it didn’t last long. An own goal from Cole McGhee saw the Lions get level, with Macauley Langstaff then going on to score what would be the winning goal a couple of minutes later. It left the Owls stuck on -7 points at the bottom of the table, and on the brink of mathematical relegation.
