Less talk, more action is the message from Sheffield Wednesday boss

The latest from S6...

Henrik Pedersen is looking forward to putting his ideas into practice.

The Sheffield Wednesday boss has said that they have not been able to train with the intensity he would like because of the hectic start to the season, playing seven league games and two cup ties in the early part of the campaign.

The squad has had some rest days during this international break but they will use the time they have between now and facing Huddersfield Town on October 10 to concentrate on building their understanding on the pitch.

With Wednesday having registered two goalless home draws before the pause in club football, fans are intrigued to see how they perform on their return.

Pedersen explained: “We cannot only speak about how we want to play; we need to train it, and then we want to have a big focus on ourselves because we need to train our relation, we need to train our connection, we need to train our ideas together. So we're coming deeper in this.”

After visiting Huddersfield, Wednesday host high-flying AFC Wimbledon a week later. After failing to score in four out of five games at Hillsborough, supporters will be keen to see them hit the same attacking stride as they did when they smashed seven past Bromley. But Pedersen is confident that more time on the training ground will result in a noticeable improvement.

“There's a big expectation when we play in Hillsborough that we have to be dominant with the ball,” Pedersen added. “We have the ball a lot, and that's why we will work a lot with this part of the game. So we're going do better and improve it. So the relation is going to be stronger and stronger. So our good offensive players, they come in good situations, and then I'm sure we'll develop this.”
