With Lee feeling a tight calf, Monk threw Hunt into the mix at half time with the score still at 0-0 at the Liberty Stadium, however he was slightly out of position as he was asked to sit deeper than usual.

When asked what he thought of the youngster’s performance, Monk said, “Fine, he did good. We spoke about Hunty earlier in the week… We know what he can do and what he potentially can be, and more minutes under the belt for him will do him the world of good.

“Kieran would have stayed on, it was just precautionary with Kieran and his calf, but it’s more minutes for Alex and that will do his experience and process really well.”

There’s no doubt that Lee was missed when he went off at the break as the Owls soon went 2-0 down before a late Atdhe Nuhiu header reduced the deficit to 2-1, and Monk has some decisions to make ahead of Wednesday evening’s clash with Preston North End.
