Then 23, Nuhiu was on the hunt for a new club after leaving Turkish outfit, Eskişehirspor, and he was snapped up by Dave Jones as the Owls looked to consolidate their place in the Championship following promotion from League One the season before.
Nuhiu was on the radar of Premier League outfit, Crystal Palace, but instead opted for the blue and white stripes - playing for Palace on the Tuesday and joining the Owls on the Thursday as he ventured into English football for the first time.

“Sheffield Wednesday is a strong name throughout Europe and I am looking forward to starting training and playing with my new club.”
Speaking to Radio Sheffield seven years ago, Jones said, "We've been watching him for some months now and the kid is a real talent with loads of ability… He gives us another dimension and something totally different to what we've got.
"He's got good movement, he's good with both feet and he links play very well. He's good in the air, as you'd expect, and we're absolutely delighted to have got him."

Hide AdNuhiu went on to score on his debut for SWFC in a 2-1 defeat at Queens Park Rangers a couple of weeks later, and has since gone on to become just the second player this century to score 50 goals for the club. The other was Marcus Tudgay.
