John Coleman was full of praise for Sheffield Wednesday’s Darren Moore, though says that the Owls boss will wish his side were further up in League One.

Wednesday take on Coleman’s Accrington Stanley on Saturday as they return to League One action after FA Cup and Carabao Cup games, and the visitors are certainly favourites for the tie at Wham Stadium.

However Moore’s opposite number says his side have to believe in themselves going into the tie, even though Wednesday have put together a ‘healthy squad’ that are more than capable of kicking on in the division.

What Southampton’s players told Sheffield Wednesday boss after tight Carabao Cup...

Speaking ahead of the game, the Accy boss said, “Sheffield Wednesday are a very good side. I have a lot of respect for their manager Darren Moore.

“He is one of football’s true gentlemen. He has a great knowledge of the game, a great manner about him and he has assembled a healthy squad there.

“I love watching them play, I have watched them three or four times and they are a very good side.

“Darren will be disappointed they aren’t higher up the table, whether that’s because of bad luck or injuries, but I know he has high standards and they have the capability to go on a good run at this league.
