Adedoyin has faced a spell on the sidelines with injury of late, but was back in the goals this week as he made his return to action for Accrington’s U23s in their 3-3 draw with Blackpool.

Everton loanee, Ryan Astley, is a doubt for the game at the Wham Stadium, but former Owl Adedoyin may return and will be looking to add to his goal tally after a couple of months out.

Speaking about the attacker, the Stanley manager, John Coleman, said, “Kody is a good player, we see him every day in training, he can go anywhere he wants.

“I have seen the success Mallik Wilks has, who we come up against on Saturday, and Kody has got to go in that type of direction to have a successful career.

“You have to have a good season and this is Kody’s chance, he needs to steer clear of injuries and start scoring goals.

“The goal he scored in the Under 23s this week was hit with such force and accuracy that you are not saving them and that’s a little bit what we have been missing this season.”

Wednesday take on Stanley at 3pm on Saturday afternoon as they seek to close the gap on the two teams above them in League One, and they’ll certainly be hoping that their former player doesn’t come back to haunt them – something that’s happened many times in the past with other ex-Owls.
