A whole host of young players are available as freebies for the upcoming season, and Moore will no doubt be monitoring the exits in the top-flight to see if there’s anybody who could tick a box or two at Hillsborough.
They may have been deemed surplus to requirements in the Premier League, but that doesn’t mean they won’t go on to have successful careers elsewhere… It's something that’s been seen time and time again.
We had a look at some of the names released by the biggest clubs in England to see if any could be worth a punt the for Owls boss and his recruitment team going into the 2022/23 campaign. Some could be very doable if Wednesday fancied, whereas others may be a bit more of a long shot...

9. Finley Thorndike - Aston Villa
Thorndike was a name that some Villa fans were surprised to see on the released this summer, with the 20-year-old attacking midfielder having shown some promise in their academy. He got five goals and assists in 18 reserve league games in the season just gone, and scored in the Papa Johns Trophy as well. He's played in plenty of different attacking positions. 10. Anthony Driscoll-Glennon - Burnley
The left-sided Burnley youngster spent the second half of the season on loan with Barrow in League Two last season, and will be itching to get more senior football under his belt as he prepares to leave the Clarets. He's also played for Grimsby Town, and spent time in the Liverpool academy. Photo: Pete Norton

11. Thierno Ballo - Chelsea
Ballo would also be a long shot. The Ivory Coast-born Austrian youth international is moving on from the Blues this summer, but he’s unlikely to be short of offers higher up than League One. The 20-year-old attacking midfielder spent time on loan with Rapid Vienna last season, where he played in the Austrian Bunesliga and the UEFA Europa League. Can play central or wide right. 12. Ben Woodburn - Liverpool
Woodburn is another player who you'd expect wouldn't be too short of options this summer. The 22-year-old is moving on from Liverpool as he looks to try and get settled and playing regularly - and his versatility makes him a tempting prospect. He’s already played 21 games in League One, made 11 appearances for the Reds’ first team and last season he played 24 times in the Scottish Premiership for Hearts. Photo: John Powell
