Eleven years on, what happened to the Blades’ squad from that fateful day at Wembley? Let’s take a look…
9. Stephen Quinn
Quinn came through the academy at United and burst onto the scene in the Premier League, winning 18 caps for his country. He moved to Hull after leaving United and scored against the Blades in the 2014 FA Cup semi-final. He is now at Burton Albion, at the age of 34 Photo: Stu Forster
10. Greg Halford
Halford was highly-rated after coming through the ranks at Colchester and joined United on loan from Sunderland. He was last seen at Aberdeen but left at the expiry of his contract in 2019 and recently failed to earn a contract at Walsall Photo: Steve Ellis
11. Craig Beattie
Signed for United after his namesake James was sold, but only scored once in red and white and subsequently joined Swansea. Now 36, he left Elgin last January and was last seen signing for amateur side Stedfast in his native Scotland Photo: Ady Kerry
12. Subs: Ian Bennett
A vastly experienced goalkeeper who had two spells at the Blades. Linked up with Neil Warnock again at Middlesbrough, where he is goalkeeping coach Photo: MARTYN HARRISON
