Sheffield United v Lincoln City Recap: Blades take two wins and notch up six goals

The Blades played two 60 minute matches against the Imps with set teams for each encounter and there were comfortable victories for Paul Heckingbottom’s side in each.

Hide AdUnited took a 2-0 win in the first match thanks to a brace from Will Osula and in the second match goals from Ben Osborn, Sander Berge and a double from Rhian Brewster helped them to a 4-0 win.
The Blades impressed in patches in both games but it was fitness that Heckingbottom was looking to improve on here and the 60 minutes on the pitch will help push them towards the goal of being match-ready for when the Championship kicks off at the beginning of next month.
Today’s matches against the Imps where their second pre-season run out of the season with the next one coming on Saturday against Scunthorpe.

Davies down
Adam Davies is coming off after picking up a knock as he collided with a Lincoln forward when attempting to clear. Jordan Amissah, who was down to start in the secodn match, comes on to replace the keeper
Imps step it up
The visitors have offered a bit more of an attacking threat since the restart and they almost pulled one back there only for Coulibaly to make a block after the Blades failed to properly clear a cross.

The teams are having a water break as we reach the halfwy point in the first of these two 60 minute ‘mini matches’.
A point of note, the majority of Adam Davies’ goal kicks have been played short to the feet of one of two central defenders who have stayed back to pick up the ball. However, he has just gone long a few minutes ago, indicating that United aren’t wedded to a particular way... at this stage at least
Pressing high
Lincoln are having difficulties getting out as United press igh up the pitch. The Blades have just had a pot shot on goal which went well wide from Jebbison and that all came from the frontline pressing and Enda Stevens diverting a header into the path of the striker
