Sheffield United surrendered their unbeaten record going into the international break with defeat at Charlton Athletic - with their frustration compounded by a real injury concern over Femi Seriki.
The right-back, who’s only just returned from a knee issue, came on at the break but made way minutes into the second half after falling awkwardly.
He was stretchered off, to a mixture of applause and boos from the Charlton supporters, with the hope that he has not suffered any real damage.
United had fought back from behind at Preston North End in midweek and saw their opponents seize the momentum again here, with Millenic Alli finding a way past Michael Cooper with a finish at the United ‘keeper’s near post.
But they got back on level terms when Jordan Ayew nodded home his first goal in United colours, after Will Mannion had only half-cleared Kalvin Phillips’ free-kick under pressure from a crowd of bodies.
They couldn’t see out the game, though, with Matty Godden coming off the bench to volley home the winner from close range. Here’s how we rated United’s players at The Valley...

He may be better going forward than he is defensively but surely he has to do better for both of Charlton's goals? For the first he didn't put nearly enough pressure on Alli as he shifted the ball so easily and smashed past Cooper at the near post to put the home side ahead, with Phillips also in attendance. And for the second Alli seemed to skip past him rather easily before crossing to Godden, who volleyed home from close range under little by the way of a challenge | ugc

6. Kalvin Phillips 6
Another welcome returnee to the United side after injury and was heavily involved in United's attacking play, dropping deep to get things moving and keeping things simple. He had a big hand in the equaliser as he put a free-kick into a dangerous position and Mannion could only clear as far as scorer Ayew, and tried to catch out the 'keeper from a free-kick at his near post late in the game but Mannion read it and saved. Made way soon after for Arblaster | UGC

7. Sydie Peck 6
Came into the game in his native London on the back of his remarkable hat-trick at Preston in midweek and didn't find things as comfortable this time around. He wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination but it was a scrappy game for the most part in which no-one really shone, although he nearly rescued a point in the last minute with a first-time effort with Mannion saved well down to his left to earn his side the win | ugc

8. Tahith Chong 5
His afternoon didn't start brilliantly when he cut onto his favoured left foot and ballooned a cross miles over the heads of everyone in the middle, and it didn't improve dramatically from there. There were some decent moments down the right but he cut a frustrated figure at times, especially when he was wiped out by Rankin-Costello on the touchline around the hour mark with a really poor challenge. Fired a shot at Mannion late on which he fumbled before saving at the second attempt | ugc
