It’s almost the end of a sorry season for Sheffield United, with just one game remaining of their current Premier League adventure before their return to the Championship.

The Blades face Burnley on Sunday – in front of fans, of course! – and boss Paul Heckingbottom will face the media this afternoon to preview it. We’ll have that, and all the other stories to come out of Bramall Lane today, covered right here in our live blog.

Newcastle v Blades LIVE

Big chance for Newcastle

as Joelinton makes a good run and is played onside by Jack Robinson, but he balloons it miles over

Another break in play

as Joelinton this time goes down to receive treatment, there was no-one around him when he pulled up and United put the ball out so he could get treatment - the striker’s back on now

Saint-Maximin races clear

and beats a number of players before Enda Stevens eventually drags him down, it’s just outside the box and VAR has a look for a penalty but it’s definitely outside, Stevens get a yellow card and Ritchie curls it wide of the far post

Ramsdale is OK to carry on

but he’s still in some discomfort, as he claims Fernandez’s routine header

yet again from Ramsdale as he somehow keeps out Shelvey’s header, he hurts himself in the process but it’s a stunning save once again

after being outmuscled by Willock and then grappling with him as he bore down on goal before the referee eventually blew for the foul, it’s a free-kick in a decent position for Newcastle central with three men stood over it - Murphy takes it and it’s blocked, he wants handball but the ref waves play on

as Shelvey takes a whack in the face from Osborn’s stray arm - he takes a bit of treatment and comes back on

Let off for Norwood

as his poor pass surrenders possession in United’s half, the home side break and eventually see a shot blocked - that would have been disastrous for the Blades after their good start here

Another chance for McGoldrick

as he takes down the cross beautifully with his first touch, but his second isn’t as good and the ball flies over the Newcastle bar

Big chance for the Blades

as they break quickly when Jebbison intercepts a loose pass, he feeds Osborn whose clever pass finds Stevens inside and McGoldrick looks to find the corner, but it goes the wrong side of the post - a huge chance for the Blades to go ahead, and McGoldrick looks like he knows it as he drops to the turf in despair
