Where would Khadra fit in?

Sheffield United have young Premier League loanee Reda Khadra, the Brighton and Hove Albion starlet who spent time last season on loan at Blackburn Rovers, in their sights as they look to continue their summer recruitment drive.

Khadra impressed in both games against United last season, scoring in a 3-1 Rovers win at Ewood Park, although he did see a penalty saved excellently by Wes Foderingham in the return leg at Bramall Lane.

Khadra began his career at Borussia Dortmund and moved to Brighton in 2020, but he has only played four minutes of competitive football for the Seagulls.

He did play 28 times for Rovers last season, though, so at least has some senior experience in the Championship. Here, we take a look at what he’s like, what’s been said about him – and where he may fit in if he comes to United …

Blades waiting for Khadra answer

Sheffield United are waiting to hear if Reda Khadra accepts their invitation to join them on loan next season, after discussing the terms of the proposed agreement with both the player and his parent club Brighton and Hove Albion, writes James Shield.

Khadra visited Bramall Lane earlier this week, where he was given a presentation outlining how United plan to use him next season by manager Paul Heckingbottom and other members of his coaching staff.

By granting the 21-year-old permission to travel north, Albion signalled they are happy with the arrangement they have discussed with United. Officials at the Championship club are also confident that Khadra’s decision to make the long journey north confirms he views them as a viable option after apparently being declared surplus to requirements by Heckingbottom’s counterpart Graham Potter.
