The second in particular was impressive as United seized control of the game against the league’s bottom side, before closing out the game after Callum Lang reduced the deficit after 76 minutes.
Here’s how we rated United’s players, with a rare perfect 10 for the star of the show...

1. Michael Cooper 7
Had a nightmare start here when he was beaten within the first few minutes, without really touching the ball, and will quite rightly look at those in front of him and ask why they left him so exposed and gave him little chance of keeping out Leroy's effort. He did superbly to stop Moran from doubling the home side's lead with a great block and it proved a big moment when United, and Peck, seized control | ugc

2. Hamza Choudhury 6
Kept his place at right-back with Seriki still not fit to start but didn't look to be moving brilliantly himself at stages of this first half. He was caught out of position for North End's opener as they shocked the Blades with a third-minute goal for Leroy, but good defending prevented Erabi from getting on the end of a throughball. Made way later on | ugc

3. Japhet Tanganga 6
Was part of a defence that looked all at sea at times early on as United struggled to get going and was sloppy on the ball | ugc

4. Mark McGuinness 6
Came into the side at centre-half to replace the suspended Kitching and won his headers, as you'd imagine, but there were a few dicey moments as well including a moment of indecision between him and goalkeeper Cooper which luckily didn't cost United | ugc
