Callum Robinson admits uncertain Sheffield United future after West Bromwich Albion's Premier League promotion

Callum Robinson admits he is facing an uncertain future after insisting he has to "wait what happens" after helping West Bromwich Albion seal promotion to the Premier League last night.

Robinson, on loan from Sheffield United, scored Albion's second in a 2-2 draw with QPR that ultimately proved enough to secure Premier League football.

Robinson joined Albion on loan in January, with United boss Chris Wilder saying at the time that the former Preston man was "100 per cent" part of his plans going forward.

But that situation may be complicated further if Slaven Bilić, presumably armed with a warchest to make his team competitive at Premier League level, test United's resolve with an offer for the former Aston Villa youngster.

Wilder admitted after United's last game against Everton that players will leave this summer, as he attempts to generate funds to strengthen his group.

But Lys Mousset may have jumped to the head of the queue at United's departure lounge, after rumours of an apparent bust-up with the United boss. The Frenchman was a notable absentee from the teamsheet against Everton, with Wilder refusing to comment on the situation after the game.

"The plan is that my team is Sheffield United but I've got to wait what happens," Robinson said, after the QPR game.

"In the summer, in my head, I will go back to Sheffield United.

"The lads have been doing it from August time, I have just been here since January. I've just tried my best and committed. I'm just happy we got the job done."

Robinson scored three times for Albion in 10 starts, appearing six times off the bench.

"I have had to wait for my time since lockdown, but I have come here to help the boys and I did that [on Wednesday night]," Robinson added.

"I made it hard considering I missed the one-on-one but I got the boys over the line and I'm just happy I helped and got involved."

Speaking after Robinson went out on loan, Wilder said: “All the time, you’re looking at the development of players. It’s a good move for the club, a good move for Callum. I see no downside in this one at all."
