Everything you need to know as Storm Boelo high winds weather warning issued for Sheffield and South Yorkshire
Forecasters warn flying debris could pose a danger to life as Storm Boelo targets Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England with 80mph gusts.
Flying debris and 80mph gusts could present a danger to life this weekend as Storm Boelo bears down on large swathes of the UK.
The Met Office has implemented amber wind warnings covering Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England, active from midday on Saturday (October 24) until 9pm on Sunday (October 25).
Forecasters predict exposed coastal districts could face 80mph gales, while inland locations may see widespread winds reaching between 60mph and 70mph.

Officials warned there is a “good chance” of power cuts, damage to buildings, uprooted trees, and cancellations across rail and flight networks.
Sheffield is right on the southern cut off point of the yellow weather warning, but the majority of the city and wider South Yorkshire region is included.

The Met Office say on their website: “Prepare to protect your property and people from injury. Check for loose items outside your home and plan how you could secure them. Items include: bins, garden furniture, trampolines, tents, sheds, and fences.
“People cope better with power cuts when they have prepared for them in advance. It's easy to do; consider gathering torches and batteries, a mobile phone power pack and other essential items.
“Give yourself the best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions if driving, or bus and train timetables, amending your travel plans if necessary.”
For Sheffield, the weekend looks to be a wet and cold one.
Light rain is expected from 10am on Saturday until it turns to heavier rain throughout the whole afternoon and into the evening.
Sunday has light rain forecast throughout.
There is also an amber weather warning in place some parts of the north of England and most of Scotland from Saturday evening to Sunday evening.
The turbulent conditions follow widespread disruption across Wales and south-east England on Friday triggered by Storm Austen, the first named storm of the year.
