South Yorkshire Police said officers were deployed to Firth Park Road, Firth Park, at around 12.40pm following reports of a two-vehicle smash.
One of the cars flipped and landed on its roof.
No serious injuries have been reported.
The collision, close to Firth Park, has blocked the road and is disrupting bus services.
