Detective Inspector Scott Harrison, leading the police murder probe, said: “We are working hard to piece together exactly what happened at the property on Woodthorpe Road on Friday night.
“Our officers remain in Woodthorpe today and are carrying out house to house enquiries and searching the area, they are also there for your reassurance.
“A priority for us is hearing from anyone who was on Woodthorpe Road between 7.30pm and 8.30pm on Friday night and noticed anything unusual.

“This is no doubt a distressing time for Mr Marples-Douglas’ family and our thoughts are with them and the wider community, who are coming to terms with what has happened.”
