The latest services to be affected are the number 24 and 25 buses running between Bradway and Woodhouse via the city centre.

First South Yorkshire said this evening that they were avoiding Maltravers Road in the Wybourn area due to vandalism, with buses diverted via Cricket Inn and Manor Way.

Earlier this week, the operator said its number 56 service was being diverted away from Wybourn in the evenings until further notice following ‘repeated’ acts of vandalism and anti-social behaviour.

These are just the latest incidents, with attacks on buses becoming all too common.

Last December, buses in Arbourthorne were diverted each evening for a whole week due to anti-social behaviour, with buses in Woodhouse village and Greenhill previously suffering the same fate.

Last month, a vandal was caught hurling a missile at a bus during an undercover police operation in Manor, Arbourthorne, Woodhouse and Westfield.
