Tragedy as man loses fight for life after falling ill behind wheel and crashing in Sheffield

A man who fell ill while driving in Sheffield and crashed has lost his fight for life.

The motorist, in his 50s, suffered a medical episode while driving through Burngreave at around 6am on Tuesday, March 30.

His silver Vauxhall Astra had been travelling along Minna Road when it crashed into a bollard and a brick wall, close to the junction with Burngreave Road.

The vehicle then struck traffic lights at the pedestrian crossing outside the Premier Convenience Store, close to Burngreave Street.
