Traffic at standstill as police close busy road in Sheffield

Emergency services have closed off a road in Sheffield this evening.

Police cars, ambulances and fire engines have all been spotted on the scene on Myrtle Road, in the Heeley area of the city.

A picture from the scene shows traffic at a standstill at the junction with Queens Road and Bramall Lane as police respond.

One eyewitness told The Star: “Numerous ambulances and police cars blocked off the road.”

Another, who is stuck in traffic, said that “something major is going on.”
