Sheffield traffic: Drivers urged to prepare for city's first cyclists' roundabout after 18 months of roadworks
Sheffield’s first cyclists’ roundabout is days away from completion new photos show.
A radically remodelled West Bar roundabout is set to open shortly after October 18, following three weeks of night working by contractor Sisk.

It will have a circular cycle track, with vehicles entering and leaving the roundabout required to give way to bikes.
Councillor Ben Miskell, chair of the transport, regeneration and climate policy committee at Sheffield City Council, said: “For too long people wanting to cross West Bar roundabout to get around the city have had to wait for a gap in the traffic to do so in a safe manner. The changes we are delivering will make it easier for those on foot or on their bike in two fantastic new ways.”
The project has also seen Tenter Street and West Bar reduced from four lanes to two to create a cycle lane separate from traffic. Contractors Sisk started in April last year.
Meanwhile, bike repair business Fettle has moved into the former Kwik Fit garage on Townhead Street, at the junction with Broad Lane and Tenter Street.
