A huge team swooped in and resurfaced a crossroads in Sheffield after months of complaints about potholes.
Workers from Sheffield Council’s roads maintenance contractor Amey and sub-contractors closed the busy junction in Nether Edge on the evening of June 3.

About 30 people were on the job and several vehicles including a digger, road sweeper, vans and two huge lorries.
The repair comes after residents and local councillors complained about multiple potholes potentially damaging vehicles.
In February, councillor Maroof Raouf, for Nether Edge and Sharrow, said he was worried motorists might swerve to avoid a big pothole and hit a child.
He added: “As councillors we are getting it in the neck from constituents and rightly so.
“People are struggling to pay council tax, feed their families and heat their homes. They shouldn’t be paying out for car damage due to potholes as well.”
At the time, he said Nether Edge councillors had received complaints about potholes at Nether Edge crossroads, Archer Lane, South View Road, Boston Road, Osborne Road, Brincliffe Edge Road and Woodstock Road.
Amey is Sheffield City Council’s private sector roads maintenance contractor.
In February it announced it would double the number of pothole repair teams from five to 10.
