Sheffield bike shop raided for third time in a year

Trek at the Fox Valley shopping park in Stocksbridge was raided in the early hours of this morning.

Ram raiders smashed their way into the front of the store and escaped with three electric bikes each worth between £2,000 and £3,000.

After the first raid, shutters were installed and after the second raid window bars and an in-store fog security system were introduced to boost security.

A number of electric bikes were stolen in a raid at the store on Monday, November 19.

South Yorkshire Police issued an appeal for information about the bikes, which the force said were worth a ‘considerable amount’.

They were loaded into a van by thieves involved in the raid and driven away from the shop.

Amanda Holmes, from Fox Valley said: “We are working with the police and the team at Trek Bikes following the break in which occurred in the early hours of the morning on Wednesday.

“We would like to thank the emergency services for attending the scene within minutes.

“Everyone is working hard now to ensure we can get the store open again on Thursday morning and customers are being asked to use the side door for now.”
