Flowers have been left at the scene of a fatal collision which claimed the life of a Sheffield mum.

Tracey Rimmington was crossing Prince of Wales Road, Darnall, on Saturday, October 1 when she was struck by a van just after 9pm.

Tragically, the 53-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision, which was close to the junction with Mather Road.

The van involved was a blue Volkswagen Caddy, which was travelling away from Darnall, towards the Parkway

The driver, a 22-year-old man from Sheffield, was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink/ drugs.

He has since been released under investigation.

A number of bouquets of flowers have been left at the crash scene, including one from her son, Ryan, whose heartbreaking note reads: “To our Queen, RIP our angel, love you always and forever.”

Witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage should call police on 101 and quote incident 918 of October 1.
