Reckless youngsters caught throwing fireworks at cars from bridge
Young people branded ‘feral’ and parents blamed for their behaviour
Youngsters were caught on camera throwing fireworks from a bridge at cars passing underneath on Saturday (October 31) evening.
The incident happened on Owlthorpe Greenway in Waterthorpe.
In a video on Facebook, at least seven young people are seen on a bridge and fireworks erupt in the air close to a car passing underneath.
A warning attached to the video on the Beighton Community Forum page says: “Careful on Owlthorpe greenway at the bridge, kids throwing fireworks off it at cars earlier, before I started recording they launched quite a few at cars when they were much closer too.”
Comments linked to the online submission show anger at the incident, with the youngsters described as “vile” and “feral”, with some contributors blaming their parents for their behaviour and the police and the courts for imposing inadequate deterrents.
