13. Town Hall, City Hall or Old Town Hall?
Sheffield has not just a town hall and a city hall but an old town hall too, which can cause some confusion. Sheffield Town Hall is the cradle of the city's democracy, while Sheffield City Hall is a great live venue, which has hosted countless big names over the years. Sheffield Old Town Hall, pictured, is more than 200 years old and also used to house the city's courts but the beautiful building has sadly been allowed to fall into dereliction. Plans were approved to convert it into a mixture of apartments and hotel rooms, with a ‘souk’ style market on the ground floor, though work has yet to begin and it has since changed hands. 14. What is a deedah?
