'Not tonight Mrs Hunt' - Jos Luhukay on Sheffield Wednesday defender Jack Hunt's injury in '˜a dangerous area'

It was toe-curling to watch at the time but Jos Luhukay was able to smile about Jack Hunt's delicate injury after Sheffield Wednesday's 1-0 won over Hull City.

Hunt rushed out to block a shot from Kamil Gosicki in the second half and took it in a place where no one wants to take a shot.

You don’t need it spelled out.

The Owls defender was clearly in a lot of pain - and understandably so - and after receiving treatment Hunt was eventually forced off, with his eyes still watering.

However, after the match, boss Luhukay’s thoughts turned to Hunt’s other half.

“I can not explain it very well but it was in a dangerous area,” laughed Luhukay.

“I spoke to him after and I said in the evening his wife must be careful ... it’s not happening tonight. We’ll check on him over the next few days.”

The defender later tweeted: “Great win. Clean sheet, Assist, but wow that was the worst pain I have ever experienced in my life. have a good weekend everyone.”

Sounds like it’ll be feet up and Match of the Day for Jack tonight.
