What Jos Luhukay had to say about Sheffield Wednesday's win over Hull City

Sheffield Wednesday manager Jos Luhukay hailed the energy in his Owls team after a battling 1-0 victory over Hull City at the KCOM.

Jordan Rhodes scored his first goal this calendar year to settle the match but the win came as a result of a hard- working team performance.

“The team gave everything from the first minute to the last minute,” said Luhukay. “I think we played in the first half very well, we had good combinations, we played football, we had our chances.

“We made a very good goal from the right side, it was a good cross from Jack and a good header from Jordan.

“It was good for us that we came on 1-0 in front at half time and then in the second half we must defend. The pressure was high for 45 minutes and eight minutes added time but the team, I don’t know where they get their energy from.

“They were fighting in their fifth game in 14 days and at the least me we had a bit of luck in the last few seconds where they nearly scored with a header.

“Today was our day, we have reached 50 points to stay in the league but we will play for the last three games for us and for our supporters, of course.”
