Homes evacuated after 'serious' fire broke out at Rotherham block of flats

Rotherham residents were evacuated from their homes after a ‘serious’ blaze started at a block of flats this evening (Wednesday, November 18).

Four fire engines were called to Hill Top Lane in Kimberworth tonight after a ‘serious’ fire started in the ground floor of the building at around 7pm.

Some neighbouring homes were evacuated as firefighters tried to get the blaze under control,

Teams from Rotherham, Elm Lane, Parkway and Central fire stations attended the scene with police and the ambulance service.
