Police cordon around house on Sheffield residential street after armed raid in early hours
Police remain on scene, with house cordoned off
A marked police patrol car remains outside a house on Heather Road, near Firth Park, Sheffield, after officers arrived with guns, at around 4am (September 22) according to locals.
A uniformed officer stood guard in the doorway to the property, which was cordoned off with blue and white police tape. The tape extended along the black metal gate in front of the red brick property, which police say is a house in multiple occupation.
One nearby resident told The Star that six police cars arrived on the street at around 4am, and that officers ordered four people out of the house.
Another said: “Police came with guns, and number of police were trying to get people out of the house at 4am.”
South Yorkshire Police confirmed that they had sent armed officers to the scene this morning, but said that no arrests had been made at that location.
However, they added that they had made an arrest in connection to the same operation.
The said: “This was a pre-planned deployment for a warrant. The property was multi-occupancy so some people were taken out while a search took place.”
