Wheelie bins stolen by youths and set alight on Sheffield estate

Disappointment has been expressed at the damage cause by youths stealing wheelie bins and setting them alight on a Sheffield estate.

South Yorkshire Police said bins have been stolen from the Lower Manor area and then set on fire on Pipworth Fields.

A seating area and fixed bin have also been vandalised and set alight on the field, where there is a multi-use games area for the local community.

The police force said: “The Manor and Arbourthorne Team has been made aware of wheelie bins being stolen from around the Lower Manor area and then being set on fire on Pipworth Fields.

“Such a shame an outdoor area is being spoilt by local youths. The seating area and multi-use games area were put there to provide an area for people to enjoy.”
