Khurm Javed murder: Cops hunt killer ahead of special gathering for Sheffield solicitor

The hunt for a gunman who opened fire and killed a Sheffield solicitor in a city street is continuing this morning.

Khurm Javed, aged 30, was gunned down in Clough Road, near Bramall Lane, last Saturday night.

South Yorkshire Police said there was a ‘confrontation between two parties’ before shots were fired.

Khurm, a married dad-of-two, was pronounced dead at the scene.

He worked for London Road based law firm Alison Law Solicitors.

Two men, aged 21 and 23, were arrested on suspicion of murder on Monday but released on police bail after questioning.

Witnesses or motorists with dashcams who were driving through the area on the night of the murder are urged to come forward.

Extra police patrols are still being carried out in the wake of the murder to reassure concerned residents.
