(Video) Investigation launched after gun fired in Sheffield suburb

An investigation has been launched after a gun was fired in a Sheffield suburb just before midnight on Friday (April 9).

South Yorkshire Police said police were called to reports of shots fired in Warren Lane, Chapeltown at around 11.30pm.

The police said a gold Peugeot was seen fleeing the scene.

The officers who attended the scene have also discovered evidence of firearms discharge.

Fortunately, no one suffered injuries in the incident that sent shock waves through the otherwise quiet neighbourhood.

The street remains taped off this morning (April 10) as the officers, together with the forensic team carry out their enquiries to locate those responsible.

The police said those with information are asked to call 101 quoting incident number 1176 of 9 April.
