Two police cordons in place on major Sheffield over fears of ANOTHER shooting

A major road in Sheffield has been cordoned off by police this morning, Friday, July 24, after a dog was shot.

Part of Abbeydale Road is sealed off, close to the Pitt Stop Tyres garage at the junction with Farrar Road, and a number of police vans and cars are at the scene.

There is also a section of pavement cordoned off slightly further south on the road including the bus stop outside Fading Away Barber.

Residents reported being woken by six loud bangs.

It is the third shooting in the space of two days.

Police were called to Machon Bank in Nether Edge shortly before 1am yesterday, Thursday, July 23, where officers found damage to a window.

Further reports were received of shots being fired on nearby Glen Road, though no injuries were reported.
