A South Yorkshire Police sniffer dog has been praised for finding a gun, bullets and cash during a recent search.

Cocker Spaniel 'Willow', who is trained to search for drugs, cash and weapons, was called into action last Friday.

Details of where the search was carried out have not yet been revealed, but Willow found a box of bullets, a gun hidden in a sofa and £10,000.

South Yorkshire Police said: “On Friday, handler Faye took Willow to assist officers executing a warrant to search for drugs and cash.

“As well as finding around £10,000 of suspected ill-gotten gains, Willow found a box of bullets and then to complete the package, she sniffed out a firearm hidden in a sofa, potentially linking the suspect to other crimes -adding to Willow's list of impressive finds since passing her training course with Faye last year.”
