South Yorkshire Police issue warning after prisoner Almas Ullah escapes custody

A police hunt is under way for an inmate who escaped from a Doncaster prison.

Almas Ullah, aged 33, absconded from HMP Hatfield, on Sunday, May 2.

He was seen leaving the open prison at around 5.30pm without authority and is now wanted for absconding from lawful custody.

He is currently serving an indeterminate sentence for robbery.

Ullah is 5ft 6ins tall, slim and when he was last seen had a full beard.

He has two scars, one on his left arm and the other down the centre of his stomach.

He also two tattoos – the name ‘Cath’ on his left arm and a Chinese symbol on his right arm.

Ullah has known links to Leeds and Bradford.

Members of the public are urged not to approach him but to call 999 if Ullah is spotted and quote incident number 705 of May 2.

Anyone with information which could help officers track him down should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.
