Nobody has yet been charged over the killing, but detectives believe Farrah could hold vital information.

To urge people to come forward, a £5,000 Crimestoppers reward for information on his whereabouts was made available.

Farrah, also known as Reggie, was captured on CCTV at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital on the same night that Kavan was stabbed.

He returned to hospital the following day but then disappeared.

He was treated for facial injuries believed to have been sustained in the same incident in which Kavan was stabbed.

Farrah has never been reported ‘missing’ by his family in Sheffield.

All his friends, relatives and acquaintances have been visited by the police and served with harbouring notices, warning that anyone found shielding him faces arrest and prosecution.

Four men who were present on the night that Kavan was stabbed have been jailed for their parts in an ill-fated drug deal that ultimately led to the murder.

Jason Baker, 41; Derice Cohen, Travis O’Grady and Ethan Hallows, all 20, went to Upperthorpe on the evening of 14 August 2018 to conduct a deal, Sheffield Crown Court heard.

The court heard that this led to an altercation in which Kavan, who had gone to the scene with the defendants, lost his life.

Baker, Cohen, O’Grady and Hallows each pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply class B drugs and were jailed at Sheffield Crown Court in March.
